What will a book review that I share with you look like? First and foremost, it will have the title of the book along with a link to Amazon (or Barns & Noble if not available on Amazon) so you can purchase it and enjoy it as much as I did. Next will be a "star" rating that I give to the book as a general overview of just how much I like the book. Fair warning, few books will get a full 5 stars from me. For a book to get a full 5 stars it has to be completely free of grammar and editing errors, the story must be compelling and fully pull me in, and the characters must read as if they were real people, doing real things in real places. If a book can accomplish this, then it deserves a full 5 stars.
After the star rating will be a paragraph or two of what I thought about the book, but don't worry I won't give out any spoilers. If there are glaring grammar and editing errors I will let you know so that you can decide if you want to try to read the book anyway. I know for some readers that such errors can completely ruin a good story. If the characters feel flat or are just too far removed from being real or are unrelatable, I'll let you know about that too.
The last thing I will include, if needed, will be any warnings about violence, sex, and/or appropriateness of a book to an age group. If you read a review and there are no warnings listed, then it can be read by anyone or to anyone.
I will also occasionally include links to other reviewers, as well as links to newsletters that I think you may enjoy. Let the fun begin now that you know what to expect. Dive right in and find your next book that will whisk you away to some far away land, or maybe take you right into the headlines of your backyard.
